West and southwest winds gusting as high as 55 mph. * WHERE...Western Mountains, West Central Plateau, and West Central Highlands. * WHEN...Until 6 AM MDT Friday. * IMPACTS...Plan on snow packed or icy road conditions. This includes portions of I-40. Areas of blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility, and strong crosswinds will also make driving hazardous. Northwestern Catron County in west central New Mexico... Western Cibola County in west central New Mexico... Western McKinley County in west central New Mexico... * Until 330 AM MDT. * At 229 AM MDT, a dangerous snow squall was located along a line from near Tohatchi to near Red Hill, moving east at 25 mph. HAZARD...Intense bursts of heavy snow and gusty winds leading to blowing snow and rapidly falling visibility to less than one-quarter mile. Wind gusts greater than 35 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Travel will become difficult and potentially dangerous within minutes. * Locations impacted include... Gallup, Zuni Pueblo, Thoreau, Ramah, Pine Hill, Black Rock, El Morro, Vanderwagen, Fence Lake and McGaffey. This includes the following highways... Interstate 40 between Mile Markers 1 and 64.
