Rip Current Statement issued June 27 at 2:53AM EDT until June 28 at 8:00AM EDT by NWS Tallahassee FL * WHAT...Dangerous rip currents expected. * WHERE...Bay County Beaches and the Saint Joseph Peninsula. * WHEN...Through Friday morning. * IMPACTS...Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away from shore into deeper water. Swim near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax and float. Don't swim against the current. If able, swim in a direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the shore and call or wave for help.

Flood Advisory issued June 27 at 5:38AM CDT until June 27 at 8:45AM CDT by NWS Tallahassee FL * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of the Panhandle of Florida, including the following county, Bay. * WHEN...Until 845 AM CDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 538 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1.5 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Panama City, Lynn Haven, Panama City Beach, West Bay, Vicksburg, Bid-a-Wee, Bahama Beach, Edgewater Gulf Beach, West Panama City, Southport, Gulf Lagoon Beach, Gulf Resort Beach, Laird, Magnolia Beach, Biltmore Beach, Pine Log, Seminole Hills, St Andrews State Park, Sunnyside and Laguna Beach. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads.
