While winds will only be 5 to 10 mph out of the northeast, a dry ground and minimum relative humidity values of 25 to 30 percent will lead to elevated fire weather concerns. Outdoor burning is strongly discouraged. Use extra caution if handling any potential ignition sources, such as machinery or matches, and ensure to properly extinguish or dispose cigarette butts.

Coastal Flood Advisory issued November 14 at 2:40AM EST until November 15 at 1:00PM EST by NWS Upton NY * WHAT...One to two feet of inundation above ground level expected in vulnerable areas near the waterfront and shoreline. * WHERE...In Connecticut, Southern Fairfield and Southern New Haven Counties. In New York, Southern Westchester, Bronx, Northwest Suffolk, Northern Queens and Northern Nassau Counties. * WHEN...From 7 AM this morning to 1 PM EST Friday. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in the more vulnerable locations near the waterfront and shoreline. Some roads and low lying properties including parking lots, parks, lawns, and homes and businesses with basements near the waterfront will experience minor flooding. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Minor coastal flooding is also likely with the morning high tide cycle on Saturday, and may also be possible on Sunday. If travel is required, allow extra time as some roads may be closed. Do not drive around barricades or through water of unknown depth. Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone property.
